Principals of the Firm
Christopher Hillmann
Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Hillmann started Hillmann Consulting in 1985 when he realized the need for a more ethical approach to consulting in the NYC market. He is a graduate of Stockton University and has been noted for his philanthropy. It is Mr. Hillmann’s mission to maintain a corporate culture where each stakeholder is valued and honored including; family, clients, colleagues, partners, communities, and government entities.
Michael Nehlsen
Principal • Executive Vice President
Mr. Nehlsen is an Air Force veteran with 30+ years’ experience consulting on environmental issues across Hillmann’s entire spectrum of services. He serves as the firm’s Executive Vice President and Director of Client Relationships in addition to being a Principal. Mr. Nehlsen is an advocate for disabled veterans and volunteers his time to Hope For The Warriors, fundraising for their Warrior’s Wish program.
Matthew Kamin, P.E.
Principal • President
Mr. Kamin is President of the firm in addition to being a Principal. He started at Hillmann in January 2002. Prior to joining Hillmann he was a structural design engineer. Mr. Kamin received a Civil Engineering Degree at the University of New Hampshire and a Masters of Engineering Degree at Cornell. He is also a licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
Michele Spinowitz
Principal • Chief Business Development Officer
As the Chief Business Development Officer, Ms. Spinowitz designs and implements sales strategies to maximize value and elevate the customer experience. With more than 25 years of sales management, relationship cultivation, and proposal development, she brings value driven solutions to help clients achieve their environmental, health and safety goals. Michele is a co-founder of Amanda’s Dream to Walk.
Jacob Hillmann
Principal • Chief Strategy Officer
Mr. Hillmann began his career with Hillmann in 2001 as an environmental technician and has since functioned in various roles including project management, large project coordination, regional management, and business development. Mr. Hillmann is committed to helping clients find solutions to their health and safety, industrial hygiene, environmental, risk management, development, and construction needs.
